totus consulting is pleased to present HR defined – a new section which does ‘just that’.  From a time when HR was considered something that a few select people did in one corner of the Organisation, HR Management now touches everyone’s life – employees, line managers, business owners and the HR professionals themselves.  While readers find millions of books and millions of web pages this very overload seem to cause enormous confusion. For an everyday user of Human Resources Management who needs to understand the basics of something in the field, there is still paucity. 

HR defined is meant to serve as a ready reckoner of the most commonly used terms in the field.  The idea is to provide an overview of each concept without overloading information.  HR defined is meant to be a starting point for someone who wants to know something about HR.
